How It Works
A clear, collaborative publishing process
Publishing should feel clear and collaborative. Here is what to expect when we work together.
Discovery and Manuscript Review
We begin by understanding your goals, your audience, and the role the book will play in your professional life.
You share a synopsis and up to 25 sample pages, and we provide candid feedback on readiness, scope, and timeline.
If it is a mutual fit, you receive a transparent quote and a clear set of next steps.
Editorial Refinement
Most authors come to us with strong content and a near-final draft. We right-size the editing to match your manuscript's needs.
This may include a proofread, a careful copyedit, or light structural guidance to strengthen clarity, flow, and reader experience.
You remain the expert voice; our job is to help your ideas land with precision and polish.
Design and Typesetting
Your book is designed to reflect the quality of your ideas.
We coordinate professional cover design, establish a clean interior layout for print, and create accessible ebook files for EPUB and Kindle.
You review and approve each stage so that the final result aligns with your vision and brand.
Distribution Setup
Once the book is approved, we prepare files and metadata for publication on Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, making your book available worldwide.
You may use your own publishing accounts, or OEI can manage them for you.
Either way, once your book is published, all rights and royalties remain yours.
Audiobook Guidance
Nonfiction is often most powerful in the author's own voice.
We guide you through preparing to narrate, arranging suitable recording conditions, and meeting ACX technical requirements.
If you have already recorded your audiobook, we can complete the quality control and mastering process and ensure your files are approved for Audible.
Marketing Plan and Launch Support
Every author receives a 90-day marketing plan designed by a marketing professor.
It outlines your target readers, core messaging, recommended channels, and a week-by-week launch calendar.
Your plan is practical and tailored to nonfiction, with an emphasis on credibility, discoverability, and long-term reach.
Timeline
Depending on manuscript readiness, professional publication can take as little as two months. Most authors complete the process in eight to sixteen weeks.
